Brunch Bliss:
Exploring The Friendly Toast’s Breakfast Delights

Does anyone out there love a good brunch? A good mimosa, because I know I do. For my 22nd birthday my friends and I decided to go out to The Friendly Toast in Chestnut Hill MA. It was my first time and I was really excited, especially for the Mimosa flights.

When we arrived we walked into a space that reminded us of an old 90s Diner with a modern twist. The menu had many brunch options from a standard bacon and egg breakfast to a chorizo Benedict. For myself I got a mimosa flight which came with four small different styles of mimosas spread out in a row.

Starting from the right: The first flight is their original mimosa with orange juice and Prosecco with an orange peel rim. Out of 10 I give it a 9, you can’t go wrong with a traditional mimosa. I believe the best mimosas is a glass full of Prosecco with a mist of orange juice. The next flight is called Peach Perfect, which out of 10 I would give a 8. It has a blood orange puree which was great, not too lackluster, but also not too sweet. The third flight is called Tropic Like It’s Hot and trust me the name speaks for itself. It had an edible flower which surprisingly wasn’t bad. For the last flight it was called Raspberry mimosa and like its name it’s pretty self explanatory. The mimosa flights definitely helped me pick my favorite flavor of mimosa and for only $19.99 it’s one of the best deals you’re going to find.

I got the Chicken and Waffles. Its a A fluffy Belgian waffle infused with bacon, fire roasted poblano corn & jalapeno jack cheese - layered with our rice crispy coated chicken breast & topped with hot honey, chipotle maple sour cream, pickled onions & scallions. This had to be the best decision I made all day, of course behind ordering a pint of a mimosa after destroying my flights. It had a twist that even I was confused when I first saw it come to the table. This was the first meal in a while where I have left no crumbs on my plate. I am no food critic, but this twist on a classic definitely takes the cake and makes me want to take a second trip to The Friendly Toast. Will you?
