Hush Harbor: Ifé Franklin and DZIDZOR

Hush Harbor: Ifé Franklin and DZIDZOR

Hush harbors were secret meeting places where in enslaved African-Americans would gather to worship, socialize, and maintain Cultural traditions outside of the ever watchful eyes of white society.

Ifé Franklin and Dzidzor with support from community members will activate the sanctuary of Saint Augustine African Orthodox Church, creating a space for folks to gather, sing, shout, moan and move and share joy! We need these safe space more than ever for our collective healing, hope and liberation.

Participants are welcome to bring an instrument, your voice, to move, dance, or sit in space together.

This special event is tailored specially for a participatory audience of Black, Indigenous and people of color (BIPOC) only, as BHAC creates a safe harbor in a challenging time. Our following events are open to all.

This event will be followed by a social time including refreshments. Please RSVP here.
