Jazz Sunday: Rich Greenblatt & Nick Grondin / Jam: Obscure Real Book tunes

Rich Greenblatt on Vibes

Greenblatt (vibes) and Grondin (guitar) join curator Brian Friedland (keys), creating a layered, detailed sonic experience. Tonight, they’ll swing and improvise on rarely-called tunes from the iconic “Real Book,” the first collection of notated lead sheets that jazz musicians have been playing from since the ’70s. They’ll be joined by their Berklee colleagues Bruno Råberg (bass) and Steve Langonge (drums). The set is followed by a curated jam on the theme of obscure Real Book tunes.

Jazz Sundays at The Square Root brings together Boston’s best jazz artists in an intimate restaurant setting for performances and themed jams.
